Local lockdown rules to be eased from Wednesday
Updated: Sep 14
Great news that the local lockdown across Kirklees is to be lifted for some areas from next Wednesday. The additional restrictions have been in place since the end of July following an upsurge in cases across the Kirklees area. The restrictions are to remain in place for the Dewsbury and Batley communities.
This is all good news for the Winter League as an easing of restrictions will contribute to a better experience on the green when the season starts on 29 September. It should help the car parking problem for both our greens with car-sharing now available once again to help on numbers. Social distancing and contact rules will still apply.
Under the local lockdown rules you could not:
Meet people you do not live with inside a private home or garden, except where you have formed a support bubble.
Visit someone else’s home or garden even if they live outside of the affected areas.
Visit friends or family in care homes, other than in exceptional circumstances.
Socialise with people you do not live within other indoor public venues like pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, places of worship, community centres, leisure and entertainment venues, or visitor attractions.
Have a large wedding reception or party.
Share a vehicle with people outside of your household if you can avoid it. You must wear face coverings and roll down the windows if you can't, then clean the car afterwards.
Whilst the changes are welcomed it is still important for us all to remain cautious and respect the Stay Safe message and practices for the foreseeable future.
