Two unbeaten teams go head-to-head
After the opening two rounds of League fixtures, there are just two teams in each Division with unbeaten records. The pair from the Springwood Division go head-to-head this week. Our host club have won both their opening two matches to sit proudly at the top of the table whilst Clayton West have only played one match to date and that was a convincing 6-0 victory. Springwood have used 8 different bowlers in their two matches so far as they continue to involve as many of their 14 registered bowlers as possible so it is difficult to forecast what kind of team will be on the green this week.
In the same Division Huddersfield Recreation Club 'A' and Lowerhouses 'B' will both be looking for their first win of the season when they meet Rastrick and Denby Dale respectively.
In the Milnsbridge Division leaders Thorpe Green put their unbeaten record up against the home team from Milnsbridge who have been adding to their bank of 22 registered bowlers this week to have enough bowlers to field a full team. The other unbeaten side, Lowerhouses 'A', will be pushed all the way by pre-season favourites, Meltham, who will be aiming to bounce back from last week's shock defeat. The two teams currently occupying the bottom two places meet with Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' and Dalton both aiming to open their winning accounts.
Light winds and a cloudy morning will give way to light rain showers in the early afternoon turning to heavy rain mid-afternoon. Best to get on first and then take cover.
Kirkheaton Con and Lindley BC have the day off.
