All systems go for new season

Updated: Aug 15, 2020

The go-ahead green light given by the BCGBA yesterday means that the Winter League should be able to start life from October as planned. The two host clubs, Springwood and Milnsbridge, just need to complete their Action Plans and get them approved to enable their greens to be used for the opening matches. These plans to include a risk assessment of the number of bowlers allowed on the green at any one time.

The new HSMWBL Management Committee met on Monday morning and set a provisional start date of Tuesday 6 October. This is now a realistic target and plans can be progressed to support this date. Clubs are now encouraged to submit their bowler registrations so that they can all be entered on to Bowlsnet ready for the opening matches of the new campaign.

An application has already been submitted to Bowlsnet to use this great system throughout the season.

All clubs should now forward their squad of players registration details to the Secretary preferably by email. This means bowlers first name and surname, BCGBA number and Date of Birth. Please don't ask me to copy all the 100+ bowler details you already have registered with the HDVBA.

Additional registrations can be made at any time during the season but it would be helpful to have as many as possible as soon as possible to avoid an eve-of-season panic. Clubs with A and B teams are reminded that bowlers can only play for one team in a season and so care should be taken over getting the registration split agreed within each of those clubs.
