A week of firsts
Week 3 of the regular season saw a spate of firsts after the Tuesday fixture programme.
First defeats of the season for Springwood and Thorpe Green. The first time that Clayton West and Milnsbridge have each topped their separate Divisions and a first win this season for Dalton. Then we had the first drawn match of the season as Huddersfield Recreation Club and Rastrick shared the points after Rastrick won the game count 3-1 but lost on the aggregate total by 79-80 to leave a 3-3 match score.
Clayton West won 6-0 for a second consecutive week when beating Springwood to head the Springwood Division league table and in doing so had the top 2 individual performances of the day. Denby Dale also had a whitewash win over Lowerhouses 'B' who are still looking for their first league point of the season.
At Milnsbridge the Division leaders, Thorpe Green, lost their unbeaten record when going down 1-5 to Milnsbridge who as a result took the top spot. Lowerhouses 'A' are level on points at the top after a 5-1 win condemned Meltham to a second consecutive defeat whilst Thorpe Green are third just a point behind the two joint leaders. Dalton opened their winning account in emphatic style beating Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' 6-0 for a first win of the season.
