What does the League offer for the new bowler in his first season in terms of winning a trophy? I’m thinking of a personal trophy as opposed to being part of a successful team.
There are 5 trophies on offer to take part in - rose bowl, over 70’s , over 80’s, pairs and over 70’s pairs ( have I missed one?)
But in his first season would the new bowler take part ? most unlikely , and , if he did would have little chance of winning.
Ok , I accept there could be an exception of a very good bowler playing say a high level on a saturday who reaches the age of 60 and joins the League .
A new Bowler of the year trophy could be open to all new bowlers of any age who, in their first season played , say a minimum of 60% of the games, apply to a bowler who played for his first or second team and apply to any division .
Could there be any advantages to this new trophy? Not difficult to manage as the end of season average tells you the winner
Could encourage the winner and perhaps other new bowlers to participate in the trophies above in subsequent seasons?
Could be a bit of fun / interest
What do my fellow bowlers think - either good or a load of rubbish
